For Simple and Fast Extraction of Genomic DNA

With PIKA DNA isolation kits you extract DNA from bacteria, yeasts and molds from enrichments or direct from production samples. The kits are individually adapted for both the material to be analyzed and the composition of the potential spoilers which are expected in a sample.

PIKA DNA Isolation Kits are simple and robust, especially suitable for use in a routine quality control lab of breweries, wineries, and the beverage industry. Isolated DNA can be further analysed by different molecular biology applications, both for the detection of microbial spoilers or contaminations and for the detection of genetically engineered maerial. With PIKA HeatEx, cell lysis is induced by heat while with PIKA BeadEx it is mechanically by tiny glass beads. Especially for the examination of grain, PIKA SeedEx allows the analysis of up to 10 grams of barley, malt or other cereals for contamination with bacteria, yeasts or moulds - or to check varietal purity.

Our DNA Isolation Kits are simple and robust, especially suitable for use in a QC lab of the beer, wine and beverage producing industry. The isolated DNA can be further used in different molecular biology based tests, both for the detection of spoilers or contaminations and for testing of genetically modified material. For grain analysis, PIKA SeedEx kits is optimized to analyze up to 10 g barley, malt or cereals.

Universal, Robust

PIKA DNA Isolation Kits are suitable for use in the production lab, it is one simple procedure for all sample types and microorganisms. Beer samples, yeast turbid or process samples are all treated with the same method – the resulting DNA can be used both for bacteria and yeast PCR tests.

Fast, Cost Efficient

We keep an eye on both your laboratory and your labour capacities. With PIKA DNA Isolation Kits, sample processing takes 15 minutes hands-on time only. The only equipment needed are pipets, a benchtop centrifuge and a Vortexer/shaker or a heating block/water bath.

PIKA BeadEx

Fast DNA isolation from difficult samples

The DNA Isolation Kit PIKA BeadEx is intended for fast genomic DNA extraction from bacteria, yeasts and molds from the environment, from process samples or from enrichments.

Microorganisms can be taken either from solid surfaces as colonies from a plate or from membrane filters, or from liquid samples. Cell disruption is achieved mechanically without costly instruments by shaking in the presence of glass beads which are delivered in the lysis buffer of the kit.

Compatible to Bead Beaters.

Isolated DNA can be further analyzed in diverse molecular biology tests as PCR.

Fast genomic DNA extraction from product, from process samples or from enrichments: PIKA HeatEx DNA Isolation Kits are optimized for the examination of production samples from the beer and wine industry as well as of sugar containing soft drinks, juices, and food samples.

With one single extraction method, genomic DNA is isolated both from bacteria and yeasts. Samples can be taken from solid surfaces as colonies from plates or membrane filters, or from liquid samples. Cell disruption is achieved thermally by heating in the presence of lysis buffer.

Isolated DNA can be further analysed in diverse molecular biology tests as PCR.
